FRIDAY 18TH - LAST DAY AT MOREMI

This morning, we awoke to the roar of lions not too far away so the subject of this morning's game drive became the lions and, surprise, surprise, we found them.

From there we went to our scheduled canoe trip on the Kwai River, part of the Okevango Delta. It was a very tranquil exercise compared to the hectic game drives we have but, even then, we were visited by a herd of elephants drinking in the watercourse we were sedately floating along.

This afternoon we went exploring with no particular goal in mind. We saw the usual collection of animals.

Perhaps the highlight was watching a croc tear flesh off an elephant carcass. The elephant had died of natural causes on the edge of a waterway some months ago and the crocs have been slowly eating it ever since. It is mostly bones left now but there was obviously enough left for this croc to have a go. We could see 18 crocs in the immediate vicinity. Very popular spot.

Tomorrow we move on to our next destination. Can our experiences continue at the intensity enjoyed to date?
