Today
was our final day of off ship exploring. Tomorrow we head for
Amsterdam where we disembark on Sunday morning before heading to
Belgium and France.
We
were moored within a short walk of the centre of this very
substantial city, so, as soon as we were allowed off the ship, we
headed for the city's main attraction, the funicular to the top of
Mount Floien.
Unfortunately,
many other people had the same idea and we weren't the only cruise
ship in town so we had to queue for 30 minutes before heading up the
mountain.
But
it was worth the wait. Not only are the views spectacular but there
is a network of walking trails well worth exploring and a very
picturesque lake, Lake Skomakerdiket.
After
returning to city level, we wandered the town and the ladies were
able to do some leisurely shopping.
We
have had a spectacular trip so far and are looking forward to the
next phase. We are also looking forward to heading home and catching
up with family on Monday week.
