Day 19 – HEADING FOR MARGARET RIVER

A very quiet day today. That was mainly because Land Rover Albany (a much more professional outfit than Steptoe and Son at Port Lincoln) were having another look at the car. On the way into Albany, the suspension fault appeared again but there was no indication that there is indeed a fault. Land Rover could find no fault so, if there is another fault, perhaps it’s in the system that indicates a fault. Time will tell. Meanwhile we carry on regardless.

The excitement of the day was an agreement which appears to have been reached for Tamborine Mountain College to purchase the property next door from the wily lady who owns it. That will be a significant milestone in the development of the College if we can pull it off.

We are now at a delightful caravan park in the bush on the beach at Coalmine Beach, just near Walpole, about two hours east of Margaret River. It is famous for the Valley of the Giants and its tree top walk which we will check out tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon, we will be in Margaret River and are planning a wine tour for Thursday. The cellar (the two climate controlled cartons under our bed) is in need of replenishment.

Salmon, prawns and a Boston Bay Merlot for tea tonight. It’s a tough life. I could come to like this.

The locals are very relaxed.
