Day 21 – MARGARET RIVER AGAIN

Today was mainly spent shopping but before we embarked on that process, we went and saw the Indian Ocean for the first time at Prevelly Beach about 10 kms west of here. It is obviously a surfing mecca with the usual quota of spectacular coastal scenery.

At 10:30 we were collected for our shopping trip with an assorted group of other Queenslanders and New South Welshmen.

We went shopping at the Watershed Winery, Evans & Tate and Notting Hill wineries for wine.
We also went to the Chocolate Company for chocolate, the Venison Farm for venison, Pukara Estate for balsamic vinegar, the Margaret River Diary Company for cheese and last, but by no means least, the Colonial Brewery for beer.

It was a very successful shopping trip and we now have enough wine in our cellar to last for some weeks. Even the local ducks were impressed.

We received some disappointing news today in that Trish’s dad is back in hospital. He doesn’t appear to be in good shape.

Tomorrow we intend to explore more of the coast line and the limestone caves. Trish wants to spend some time at the local shops. We will probably head north on Saturday.
